Living Room Rugs
Start with your furniture as a guide. Ensure front legs of seating fit on the rug without cramping, or size down so no legs touch.
| Layout / Size | Recommendation |

| 10'x14' Rugs | Fits in large rooms (11.5'x15.5'+). Allow 18"-36" of floor space around perimeter. |
| 9'x12' Rugs | Perfect for 12'x18' rooms or open floor plans. Anchors most furniture. |
| 8'x10' Rugs | Standard size. Front legs of sofa on rug, back legs off. |
| 5'x7' or 6'x9' | Small living spaces. Place under coffee table or float in center. |
Bedroom Rugs
Let bed size kick-start the planning. Ground the room by placing a large area rug under the foot of the bed.
| King Bed | 9'x12' or 10'x14'. Rug sits almost completely under bed and nightstands. |
| Queen Bed | 8'x10' covers bed and nightstands with 3' on either side. |
| Full/Twin | 6'x9' fits nicely under a full bed. 5'x7' for twins. |
Kitchen Rugs
Practicality rules the kitchen. A runner near the sink adds comfort and peace of mind for spills.
| Large Kitchen | 4'x6' or 5'x7' rug. If you have an island, position a runner flanking the sides. |
| Galley Kitchen | Runner rugs (2.5'x7' to 2.5'x12') centered in the walkway. |

Rule of thumb: Select a rug 4 feet longer and wider than your table so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out.
